Guilt

Advent, to me, is a time of guilt. I feel bad that I can’t do more and better gifts. I feel sorry that I can’t spend more time doing for my friends and family. I feel bad that I can’t be a better person, give more to charity, and spend more time with God.

It’s a time of expectation.

Unfortunately, it’s a time that I have more expectations of myself.

And I fall short.

So for today, I’m not going to feel guilty. I’m going to shrug it off, take a deep breath, and trust that I am enough. Join me?
