Trust the Lord, and do good things.
Live in the land, and practice being faithful.
Be happy with the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Entrust your ways to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will act on your behalf.
Psalm 37: 37
Notice the innocent person.
and look at the decent person,
because the peacemaker has a future.
As I try to absorb these various scriptures, it seems like the message I get from them
is that we are to carry on with the practice of our faith, with seeking God no matter how muddled the culture we live in is. We have just had the 2012 black Friday, which seems like the antichrist in full bloom. These scripture passages remind us to live faithfully: continue to speak what is fair, that God will not abandon us. The peacemaker does indeed have a future. Jesus is part of a plan that places him in a world of sin, of fighting and division, of misplaced values. Let Jesus be our guide with his servant nature. I have a joyous heart knowing that we at RMF can come together to practice our faith, question this practice, and seek God in Community. It is harder and harder to go through the Christmas season with a culture that is in a frenzy over shopping and sales. Say a prayer and ask God to help you to remain remain faithful in your seeking this Christmas season.
